"I have painted many self portraits over the years, sometimes in response to "Painter's Block" or at some other critical juncture.  In painting a self portrait, just like any other portrait, I am hoping to learn and reveal something of who I  really am.  It is interesting that, under such intense scrutiny, I can lose myself in the painting process."
